This is the Gen-4 / MZ model — the current generation featuring Bluetooth control via smartphone app, an LCD remote panel, and three operating modes including a smart thermostat mode that automatically holds your set temperature. Everything needed for a full installation is included in the kit.

Does the AUFocus heater need professional installation?

The heater itself is a 12V electrical appliance — installation can be done by a competent DIY person following the instructions. However, the fuel line penetrates the floor of the van, which some owners prefer to have done professionally. Our workshop can install this for you — contact us for a quote.

Is a separate fuel tank required?

Yes. The heater requires a diesel fuel tank. The AUFocus 5L and 9.5L stainless steel fuel tanks (along with their checker-plate covers) are available separately in our Heaters section and are purpose-designed for use with this heater.

How does the 2kW compare to the 5kW model?

The 2kW model is ideal for standard-size caravans up to approximately 6–7 metres. If you have a larger van, a poorly insulated van, or frequently camp in very cold alpine conditions, the 5kW model provides more headroom. When in doubt, contact us and we can help you choose.

Will this heater void my caravan warranty?

Installing a diesel heater does not automatically void a caravan warranty, but installation must be done correctly. If in doubt, have our workshop install it and keep the installation record.
