Caravan Bed Frame Aluminum Double Split Head

The Coast Bed Frame — Double is a lightweight aluminium caravan bed frame designed in Australia, around 30% lighter than an equivalent steel frame. European birch timber slats sit on flexible rubber boots rather than rigid polypropylene clips, for a quieter, more forgiving ride, with a powder-coated stone beige finish and a split, extendable head for tall travellers. Open size 1325W x 1580L mm, closing to 1325W x 1400L mm.

Features

• Approx. 30% lighter than a standard steel bed frame
• Powder-coated in stone beige to complement RV interiors
• Slats made from six layers of European birch timber, offering flexibility and resistance to sagging
• Textured slats minimise mattress slide
• Flexible rubber boots instead of polypropylene (which tends to crack and split over time)
• Water-resistant glue bonds the slat layers for greater resistance to humidity build-up
• Split head design, and extendable — great for tall travellers

What does "split head" mean?

It's a two-piece headboard/frame design rather than one-piece, giving a tighter fit in caravan bedrooms and easier handling — and it's extendable, which suits taller travellers.

What size mattress does it suit?

This is Coast to Coast's Double aluminium bed frame: 1325W x 1580L mm open, 1325W x 1400L mm closed, 12.5kg — the smaller of their two frame sizes (the other being Prince).

Why aluminium?

Aluminium keeps the frame lightweight (important for caravan payload) while resisting the corrosion timber frames are prone to in damp conditions.
