Coast RV 14x14 White Wind-Up Roof Vent With 12V FAN & LED
The Coast RV 14x14 Wind-Up Roof Vent with 12V Fan and LED Light is the top-of-the-range model in the Coast RV 14x14 vent series. It combines passive wind-up ventilation, active 12V fan extraction, and a built-in 200lm LED interior light — all in one roof aperture, independently switchable from inside the caravan.
Coast RV roof vents feature an extra-strong galvanized steel roof flange in a sleek white finish, with an aerodynamic UV-stabilised polypropylene dome. The integrated 1.5W daylight-white LED provides useful interior light without a separate fitting, while the 150mm extraction fan keeps air moving on hot days. Both fan and light have independent switches on the inner trim ring, giving you full flexibility to use either or both as needed.
Key Features
- Wind-up hatch mechanism — smooth, reliable operation with a single winding knob from inside the vehicle
- Integrated 150mm (6-inch) 12V DC fan — draws stale or warm air out of the living space
- Integrated 1.5W daylight-white LED light — 200 lumens, suitable for reading and general interior lighting
- Independent on/off switches — fan and LED are controlled separately; use any combination as needed
- Motor: 13.6V, 0.12A — low power draw, EMC and RCM approved to Australian/NZ standards
- LED: 1.5W, 200lm, daylight white — energy-efficient and long-lasting
- Extra-strong galvanised steel roof flange and body — resists corrosion and handles caravan roof flex
- UV-stabilised polypropylene lid in white — resists fading and cracking over years of sun exposure
- Weatherproof seal — keeps rain and driving dust out when the hatch is closed
- Removable two-piece fly screen frame with curved corners — easy to clean or replace independently
- Inner trim ring with integrated switch panel — clean, finished look from inside the caravan

What size roof cut-out does this vent require?
The vent requires a 360 × 360mm cut-out — the same standard 14-inch footprint used by most Australian and New Zealand caravans and motorhomes. The inner trim ring spans 407 × 407mm overall.
Are the fan and LED light controlled independently?
Yes — the inner trim ring has separate switches for the fan and the LED light. You can run either or both at the same time in any combination: light only, fan only, both on together, or both off with the hatch open for passive ventilation. This makes it very flexible for different times of day and situations.
How bright is the LED light?
The LED is rated at 200 lumens at 1.5W — daylight white colour temperature. This is broadly similar to a small spotlight or reading lamp, and is bright enough for reading in bed, moving around a bathroom, or general interior use on overcast days. It won't replace a dedicated main cabin light, but as a supplementary fitting it adds genuinely useful illumination.
How much power do the fan and LED draw together?
The fan draws approximately 1.6W (13.6V × 0.12A) and the LED draws 1.5W. Running both together draws roughly 3.1W from your 12V system — less than 0.26A total. This is very low consumption; even running continuously overnight it would draw well under 5Ah from your battery.
What is the LED colour temperature?
The LED is daylight white — typically around 5000–6500K. This is a cool, bright white light (similar to daylight) rather than the warm yellow tone of traditional incandescent bulbs. Some people prefer warm white for bedtime reading; if colour temperature matters for your use case, note this is a cooler tone.
Is this a direct replacement for an existing vent?
If your existing vent has a 14" × 14" (approximately 360 × 360mm) cut-out, this will generally be a direct replacement. The standard 14-inch footprint is used widely in Australian and New Zealand-built caravans and many imported RVs. Measure your existing cut-out before purchasing to confirm fit.
What roof thicknesses will it fit?
The vent fits roofs between 25mm and 70mm thick, covering the majority of caravan and motorhome roof constructions. If you are unsure of your roof thickness, measure at the cut-out location — the flange adjustment range is generous enough to accommodate most common builds.
Does the LED or fan require any additional wiring beyond the existing vent connections?
Both the fan and LED run on 12V DC. You will need to connect two wires (positive and negative/earth) from your 12V system to the vent during installation. If you are replacing an existing 12V fan vent, you can typically reuse the existing wiring loom. If this is a new installation, allow for routing a 12V supply to the vent location.
