The built-in 150mm (6-inch) 12V fan lets you draw stale air out of the caravan when natural airflow isn’t enough — making it particularly well-suited to bathrooms, shower rooms, and sleeping areas in warm weather.

Coast RV roof vents feature an extra-strong galvanized steel roof flange in a sleek white finish, with an aerodynamic UV-stabilised polypropylene dome. The fan is independently switchable, so you can use the vent in passive wind-up mode on cool days and switch the fan on when you need to move air more quickly. How does the fan switch work?

There is an independent on/off switch on the inner trim ring that controls the fan motor separately from the hatch position. You can have the hatch open with the fan off (passive ventilation), hatch open with the fan on (active extraction), or hatch closed with the fan switched off. The fan cannot be run with the hatch fully closed as air needs somewhere to escape.

How much power does the fan draw?

The motor is rated at 13.6V, 0.12A — approximately 1.6 watts. This is very low power consumption, comparable to a small LED light. Running the fan continuously overnight from a fully charged 100Ah battery would use less than 0.2Ah, so battery drain is minimal even on extended off-grid stays.
