Hot showers and clean dishes, on gas or mains power. The Suburban SW6DERA is a premium 20.3-litre RV hot water system that heats on LPG gas and 240V electric, giving you flexibility whether you're plugged in at a powered site or running off gas out bush.

Suburban's tanks are porcelain-lined steel with an anode rod — the same proven approach as your hot water cylinder at home — for long service life, and the moulded copolymer insulation jacket keeps water hotter for longer with a fast 40L/hr recovery. Direct spark ignition with an in-van remote switch makes it simple to fire up from inside.

Can it heat water on both gas and electricity?

Yes. The SW6DERA runs on LPG gas and on 240V mains electricity, so you can use gas when free-camping and the electric element when connected to power.

Does it need professional installation?

Yes. Gas and 240V appliance connections must be carried out by a licensed gasfitter/electrician in New Zealand. Our workshop can supply and install — contact us for a quote.

How long until the water is hot?

Recovery is around 40 litres per hour at a 45°C temperature rise, so a full tank reheats quickly between uses.

Why a porcelain-lined tank?

Heated water corrodes bare metal over time. The porcelain lining plus a sacrificial anode rod resist that corrosion for a longer service life — the same principle as a home hot water cylinder.
