WiTi incorporates an innovative and world-first anti-theft device specifically designed for caravans,  camper trailers or any trailer fitted with electric brakes.  If an attempt is made to steal a caravan or trailer, WiTi will detect movement via a highly sensitive gyroscope.

The system immediately applies the brakes to prevent the caravan (if equipped with electric brakes) or trailer from being towed, flashes all the external lights and sounds a 105db alarm.

The siren will cease after 30 seconds and WiTi will re-enter monitoring, repeating the cycle if movement is detected again.

WiTi is sensitive enough to detect an attempted break-in. Sharp knocks and bangs such as trying to force entry into toolboxes or force open doors are detected and will set off the alarm. A swaying or side-to-side rocking movement has been programmed out to prevent the alarm from activating in windy conditions. In practice you can walk around inside the van without setting it off but if you stamp your foot on the floor or slam a cupboard door this will set it off.

WiTi is more than a deterrent, it is the only anti-theft system that totally immobilises a caravan or trailer.

Includes: WiTi Anti-Theft unit with two remote controls, wiring loom, horn, 1 x PIR sensor and 1 x magnetic door switch.

What safety equipment is essential for a caravan?

Essential safety equipment includes gas detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, hitch locks, wheel clamps, and breakaway systems.

Why do I need a gas detector in my caravan?

A gas detector alerts you to LPG or natural gas leaks, helping prevent fire or poisoning risks.

What does a carbon monoxide alarm do?

It detects dangerous CO gas buildup from heaters or appliances, which is invisible and odourless.

Are caravan security locks necessary?

Yes, hitch locks and wheel clamps help prevent theft when your caravan is parked or stored.

What is a breakaway switch used for?

It activates the caravan’s brakes automatically if it detaches from the towing vehicle.

What is the WiTi system?

WiTi is an electronic anti-theft system that immobilises or alerts if your caravan is tampered with.

Are these safety products required by law in NZ?

Some are required for compliance (like brake systems), while others are strongly recommended for safety and security.

Can I install safety equipment myself?

Some items like alarms can be DIY installed, but towing safety systems should be professionally fitted.

What is the difference between a hitch lock and a wheel clamp?

A hitch lock secures the coupling area, while a wheel clamp physically prevents the wheel from turning.

How often should safety equipment be checked?

It should be checked regularly before trips and during routine caravan maintenance.
