EternaBond Roof Seal Tape – White, 2 Inch × 50 Ft
The same industry-trusted MicroSealant technology as the 4-inch roll — in the narrower width that's ideal for smaller seams, tighter joints, and precision work where a 4-inch tape would be unnecessarily wide.
EternaBond is the professional standard for permanent caravan roof sealing. Once applied to a clean surface it bonds permanently, stays flexible through years of New Zealand summers and winters, and will not crack, dry out, or peel the way conventional sealants and butyl tapes eventually do. Water ingress is the most expensive repair a caravan can need — EternaBond is the tape that prevents it.
The 2-inch width is the right choice when you need to seal precisely along a narrow seam, around a window frame edge, along a trim strip, or in any application where the wider 4-inch roll would overlap onto surfaces it shouldn't. It's also the preferred width for sealing around smaller roof penetrations such as cable entry glands, solar cable entries, and small antenna fittings.
Why EternaBond Beats Standard Sealants
- Permanent MicroSealant Technology – Proprietary adhesive that penetrates micro-imperfections in the substrate, creating a bond standard tapes and sealants cannot match
- Stays Flexible for Life – Accommodates the natural expansion and contraction of a caravan roof without cracking or peeling
- Works in Wet Conditions – Can be applied to damp or slightly wet surfaces — invaluable for emergency repairs in the field
- No Primer Required on Most Surfaces – Bonds directly to aluminium, fibreglass, EPDM rubber, TPO, polycarbonate, most paints, and timber
- UV Stable – Designed for permanent outdoor exposure in New Zealand's high-UV environment
- Temperature Range – Performs from well below freezing to high summer roof temperatures
Key Applications for the 2-Inch Width
- Window frame and trim sealing – Narrow enough to seal along window surround edges without covering the glass or adjacent panel
- Solar cable entry points – Seal around cable glands where they pass through the roof
- Small antenna and aerial penetrations – Precise sealing around small roof fittings
- Corner and edge joints – Tighter radius seams where a wider tape doesn't conform as cleanly
- Trim strip re-sealing – Seal along aluminium trim strips on the roof or side walls
- Supplementary sealing alongside 4-inch tape – Use 2-inch to finish edges or overlaps on larger jobs
Application is Straightforward
- Clean the surface thoroughly — remove loose material, dust, and grease
- Cut tape to length
- Peel backing and press firmly along the seam, working from one end
- Roll firmly to ensure full contact and eliminate air pockets
- No curing time required — bond is immediate
The 4-inch roll is also available in our store for full roof seam and vent surround work. Many caravanners keep both widths on hand. Add to cart and seal the small jobs properly.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use the 2-inch width rather than the 4-inch? Use 2-inch tape when you need precision — sealing along a narrow edge, around a small penetration, or in a location where a 4-inch tape would overhang onto surfaces it shouldn't. For full roof seam re-sealing and Heki vent surrounds, the 4-inch roll is the better choice. Many caravanners keep both widths: the 4-inch for major sealing work and the 2-inch for detail and touch-up jobs.
Can I apply EternaBond directly over my existing sealant? Yes, in most cases. Remove any loose, crumbling, or flaking material, degrease the surface, and apply the EternaBond tape directly over the existing sealant. You do not need to remove sound, well-adhered sealant underneath.
Do I need a primer? On most caravan surfaces — aluminium, fibreglass, EPDM, and painted surfaces — no primer is required. For typical caravan sealing jobs, primer is not necessary.
How long does the bond last? EternaBond is a permanent sealing solution used in commercial roofing applications where decades of performance are expected. In caravan applications, properly applied EternaBond typically outlasts the vehicle.
Can I use this in the rain or on a wet roof? EternaBond is one of the very few roof tapes that adheres to a damp surface — making it genuinely useful for emergency field repairs. For optimal bond strength, a dry, clean surface is always preferable, but the tape will seal even when the surface is slightly wet.
Will 50 feet be enough for my job? At 15.24 metres per roll, the 2-inch tape is primarily suited to detail sealing work rather than full roof re-sealing. For major jobs involving full roof seam coverage, the 4-inch roll provides much better coverage per metre of seam. Contact us if you're unsure which size or how many rolls your job requires.
Can EternaBond be removed if needed? EternaBond is designed as a permanent application and should be treated as such. While removal with heat and effort is possible, it should not be considered a temporary solution.
